The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, and the president of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, Luis Ibarra, held a meeting at the Presidency of the first island Institution after which they announced that the award of the project for the second phase of the cruise ship dock will take place during the first quarter of next year.
With a budget of close to 24 million euros charged to European funds, this intervention "will allow us to take a qualitative leap in the modernization of the infrastructures and services of our main port area and, at the same time, will make us more competitive as a tourist destination in the cruise market," explained a "very satisfied" María Dolores Corujo after the meeting.
Similarly, the president of the Port Authority informed the president of the Cabildo that the works being carried out on the shelter dock are scheduled to be completed during the next month of September, "a circumstance highly demanded by port agents in view of the restrictive operating situations that occur in the Dock with southern storms."
