The Works Council of the Gran Meliá Salinas Hotel, belonging to the UGT union, denounces the systematic non-compliance with the Provincial Collective Agreement for the Hotel Industry, the Workers' Statute and the National Framework Agreement for the Hotel Industry.

"The non-application of salary increases, fraudulent contracts, the misuse of fixed-discontinuous contracts and the use of workers belonging to the ETT is a habitual custom".

The Works Council understands that this is not the most recommended path for the hotel sector or for the proper functioning of the Meliá Salinas Hotel. "If this irresponsible way continues, the easiest thing to happen will be the breakdown of social dialogue between the company and the unions, with the Hotel Meliá Salinas company being solely responsible"

They understand that there is a polarized world "between rich and poor, those who work and those for whom they work, and yes, still in too many places, the exploited and their exploiters." The Committee believes that it has learned to establish common ground between opposing interests "however, although the hotel offer has grown, the same has not happened with employment or with the working conditions of the workers of the Gran Meliá Salinas Hotel.
