The socialist spokesman, Marcos Bergaz, takes stock of the political year of 2022. "Another year of lost leadership in Teguise," Bergaz criticizes. "The loss of leadership is clear when we compare ourselves with other municipalities with similar characteristics to Teguise, which surpass us to the left and right in investments and planning for the future," he adds.
According to the leader of the socialist team of Teguise and La Graciosa, "the citizens live immersed in a continuous déjà vu in which unfulfilled promises are still waiting for renewed times: the improvement of gardens, the municipal theater and swimming pool, the new cleaning contract, the special plan for the historical complex of Teguise, the modernization of Costa Teguise, the beautification of our towns and payments...continue sleeping in the drawers of the offices of the Canary Coalition government."
New airs
The members of the PSOE of Teguise and La Graciosa criticize that "the 14 years of government leave clear symptoms of exhaustion and it is time to open doors, windows and renew the political project for the municipality."
"We offer ourselves as an alternative after having exercised as the main party of the municipal opposition in an equally firm and constructive manner," they point out from the PSOE. "We are - Bergaz adds - the real option for the change that the municipality and its citizens yearn for."
The socialists have been "firm" in the face of "unjustifiable situations" such as "the state of the gardens, the passivity with the banks to recover money from all the people of Teguise, the deficient cleaning service, the renunciation of funds dedicated to employment, the social problem of the skeletons, the absence of an investment plan for the next decade, etc."
In addition to the role of control over the government, the socialists show their "satisfaction" for the work they have carried out: "more than 120 initiatives presented in this mandate make up the ambitious government program for the future that is to come - Bergaz says -, a range of initiatives that the government has let pass and unfortunately has not made its own to carry them out and improve the lives of our fellow citizens.”
The elections of May 2023
With the arrival of the elections in May 2023, the socialist group wants to "star in the change that Teguise needs" with a "collective and inclusive project to represent all citizens, without distinctions.”
In this sense, Bergaz makes a call to all citizens, including the "more than 6,000 residents who did not vote" in the last elections "we want them to give us an opportunity to show them that much more can and should be done in the municipality.”
