The group of councilors of the PSOE in Tinajo will defend in the next ordinary plenary session of the municipality a motion in which it requests that the payment be made in respect of the canon owed by the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of the Cabildo of Lanzarote (CACTs) to the City Council of Tinajo. Specifically, the socialists will urge the local Consistory to demand the payment of the debt.
According to the PSOE, it is "inadmissible the passivity with which it is acting" from the municipal institution. For this reason, they demand from the current government group a "greater commitment" with the residents of the town. "A greater determination is necessary on the part of the team led by Jesús Machín to request the payment of a debt that, by right, corresponds to the residents of the municipality. The City Council has to put aside political considerations and act for the benefit of the citizens", they point out.
Although they are aware of the economic conditions that the CACTs are going through, the socialist councilors maintain that the Cabildo cannot evade its responsibility since, in their opinion, the increase in the debt complicates and aggravates the municipal coffers. "The repeated non-compliance by the Cabildo in the payment of the amounts assigned to this City Council, apart from a legal defenselessness, seriously harms the interests of the Consistory and the residents", they insist.
Approval of the Budget
In another order, the socialist formation will ask the plenary session for the approval of the local Budget, since to date the accounts corresponding to the present year have not been specified. In this sense, they request that the Budget Project include an explanatory memorandum of the same, liquidation of the previous budget, annex of the investments to be made and an economic-financial report that is delivered to the different political groups represented in the City Council.
For the PSOE there are no reasons that justify the delay in the approval of the Budget if the "deficiencies and needs" of the municipality are taken into account. "CC has an absolute majority to approve the accounts but with its acts it is clear the inability of the government group to carry out a serious policy in Tinajo", they indicate.
