The socialist spokesperson in the Tinajo City Council, Begoña Hernández, announced this Tuesday that she will request the holding of an extraordinary plenary session to demand from the Government of the Canary Islands "the implementation, with immediate effect", of education from zero to three years in the CEIP El Guiguan, in Mancha Blanca.

As Hernández has reported, there have been 18 families who have enrolled their daughters and sons for this course and now, with false excuses, they see that they are going to be diverted to private schools, where there are no places either.

"From what we have been able to find out, the conditioning of the classrooms would be ready in two or three weeks. In addition, the furniture has already been contracted and the teaching staff has been appointed. It will always be better to wait a month to be able to start taking the girls and boys, than to send families now to look for places that do not exist," the socialist spokesperson has reproached.

"We ask the mayor to stand on the side of the 18 families who have been left without a place due to a political decision", Hernández demanded, "because we know that the problem is not that the works are not finished, since there are schools such as the one in Playa Blanca that have already finished the works and have not started classes either."

"We trust that Jesús Machín will side with his people, no matter that it is the Clavijo government that has adopted this decision to favor private education," he concluded.
