The PSOE in Haría has shown its "solidarity" with the workers of the Tourist Centers, who are scheduled to start a strike starting next Tuesday, August 15. In addition, the party has asked the EPEL "to comply with the ruling of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands" that sided with the workers, in relation to how some payments provided for in the collective agreement are being executed.

The socialist councillor in the municipality, Alfredo Villalba, has asked the councillor and PSOE partner in the Cabildo, Echedey Eugenio, "to be responsible" and "comply with" that judicial ruling. "He must be aware of the importance of tourism for our island," Villalba warns.

"We know how CC plays with judicial interpretations," he added, referring to Eugenio's statements, in which he maintains that the difference with the workers is that they make different interpretations of that ruling.

"There are many people from our municipality who work in the Centers, which are also owned by Haría," recalled the socialist councillor, who has offered to "mediate" between the workers and the management of the CACT "if it were or deemed necessary".
