The PSOE has congratulated the citizens of Arrecife following the ruling of La Rocar where public land is recovered and the payment of 200 million euros from public funds is avoided. Specifically, the socialist spokesman in the capital, Alfredo Mendoza, has pointed out that "it is great news that our city avoids the payment of more than 200 million in compensation, and also recovers public land free of charge."

Thus, the socialists have recalled that it was during the time of Eva de Anta (PSOE) as mayor of the capital of Lanzarote when the defense of the City Council was withdrawn from Felipe Fernández Camero, convicted of corruption, appointed by the Popular Party for the lawsuits of Ginory and La Rocar. "And it is that Camero had already lost the first lawsuit against the property, the urban lawsuit, and this emboldened the land speculators who requested compensation of more than 200 million euros from the council," highlighted the PSOE of Arrecife.

"The big difference is that in this case the PSOE was able to change the defense of the municipality, avoid Felipe, stand firm against the pressures of the property, and put a lawyer who competently defended the interests of the city, which is what Eva de Anta did as mayor," the socialists have defended.

In this line, they have highlighted the projects that the Popular Party has tried to promote in the Islote del Francés, among them "a tower taller than the Arrecife Gran Hotel, apartment blocks of seven floors that covered the coastline, etcetera. Projects that would have prevented a large part of the city from having sea views, giving the best piece of the coastline to the usual people, and preventing the city from maintaining a park in the area."

The PSOE of Arrecife, on the case of the Ginory land: "40 million should never have been paid for a land that does not exist"

According to Alfredo Mendoza, "if the PP had not reached the mayor's office of the city, 40 million would never have been paid for the Ginory." Since the socialist spokesman understands that "the great legal disaster to which Felipe Camero, hired by the PP for the procedure, led us, ended up paying the compensation without asking for the property deeds of the land in return, advancing the money, without any sense."

Thus, the PSOE has also warned "that it will not rest until it has the complete Ginory file, to determine the very serious responsibilities behind this matter, no matter how much the mayor of Arrecife wants to sabotage access to the documentation to the people of Arrecife. A fundamental piece for the future of our capital."

To conclude, the socialists have pointed out that "the land of La Rocar presents a historical opportunity to fill the capital marina. A park must be developed that connects the Charco de San Ginés, the Puerto Marina Lanzarote and the Avenida de Arrecife for the enjoyment of all the people of Lanzarote and those who visit us. In that sense, the PSOE will extend its hand to the rest of the parties in the capital and to society in general to design together an exquisite place of which we feel proud."
