The Popular Party of Tías has presented a motion urging the government group to create new areas for picnic areas and to improve existing ones in La Asomada and Tegoyo.
From the party's ranks, they defend this type of leisure and continuous recreation equipment under the government of the Popular Party, when the La Asomada enclosure, near the playground, sports court, and sociocultural center, was precisely enabled in 2019.
"Over the years, it has been demonstrated the great acceptance that the picnic area has had and the increasingly frequent use that families both from inside and outside the municipality make of it," explains the councilor and municipal spokesperson, Ayoze Pérez.
However, the growing use of the place has not been "sufficient" motivation for the socialist government of José Juan Cruz to have proposed "advancing and creating a network of picnic areas in other towns and locations" of the municipality, as proposed by the Popular Party. In fact, the councilor points out, "they have not even considered significant improvements in the picnic area of Tegoyo and La Asomada, in which we believe it is necessary to incorporate toilets."
"Currently, the space is equipped with barbecues, wooden seats and tables, as well as umbrellas and trees, but it is important to solve the lack of toilets to complete its functionality and comfort for users," claims Ayoze Pérez.
"Without a doubt, picnic areas are ideal spaces to spend the day outdoors with family or friends, whether in winter or summer, with the added bonus that in Tías we have beautiful towns, landscapes, and natural surroundings that invite us to develop this type of activities that we have the obligation to promote from public institutions."
