"Coalición Canaria did everything possible to prevent us from being in these elections", stated the president of the Canarian Nationalist Party (PNC), Francisco Martín Espinosa, during an interview on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero. The PNC was part of the group of political parties that made up Coalición Canaria, but on April 5 they announced their separation accusing CC of "shift to the right".
"We moved like lightning to present all the necessary documentation and in the end the Ministry decided that we could participate in these elections," he said. In addition, Francisco Martín has reported a new letter from Coalición Canaria to the Central Electoral Board in which they requested that the Canarian Nationalist Party be withdrawn from the advertising minutes that correspond to it on public channels and stations based on the seats obtained in the Canarian Parliament. "They even want to take that away from us," says the PNC.
"It is sad, but that is the reality, this behavior of a political formation that should dedicate itself to presenting its political project for the defense of the Canary Islands, nothing else, is not understood. They are expressly dedicated to preventing us from appearing," Francisco Martín says on the morning radio program. "The sad thing is that they are more worried about us than about their program," he adds.
In addition, for Francisco Martín, "this political formation has been acting in a certain way for some years, there you have the issue of Encarna Páez. The people of Conejero will realize that these precedents are not healthy for anyone."
Regarding his break with Coalición, Martín says that "at the moment the contract we had signed for the 2019 elections ended, we moved forward, until then we were respectful of that signature. If the PNC is wrong, we will rectify and let the citizens wash our face, but others are wrong and the PNC acronyms appear there, no."
