The mayoress of Haría for the Platform of the Municipality of Haría (PMH), Evelia García, and the first deputy mayor and councilor for Sports, José Torres Stinga, have shown their support to the 102 seniors of the municipality who are competing every Wednesday in Mancha Blanca (Tinajo) in the Island Championship of Canarian Wooden Bowling "Abuelos Conejeros".
In this sense, there are nine women's teams and eight men's teams of seniors from the town who participate in this tournament.
In this regard, García has pointed out that "it is fair" that the municipal corporation and PMH support the elderly in this Canarian bowling tournament, since "they are our example to follow."
This group, in the opinion of the mayor, is made up of "references", not only at a sporting level, but also socially, because "with their effort, their wisdom, and their experience they have contributed to making Haría an exemplary municipality."
For his part, Torres has encouraged the seniors of the municipality to continue "with that spirit of overcoming and fighting that characterizes them", and that they are demonstrating every Wednesday in this island tournament.
