CEIP Los Volcanes hosted this Tuesday the campaign "This summer, safe dip", aimed at children who are enjoying the "Crazy Summer" program.

The emergency instructor technician from the Canary Islands Health Service and the Security and Emergency Consortium, Benjamín Nieves, was in charge of giving the workshop aimed at helping people who have suffered a possible drowning

The activity is organized by the Security and Emergency Consortium and the Mapfre Guanarteme Foundation, with the collaboration of the Town Hall and the Canary Islands Health Service.

“I want to thank Benjamín Nieves and the members of Civil Protection. They are always collaborative with us to carry out any type of activity. It is also important that the little ones know the action protocols in the event of an emergency of this type. They can also save lives,” said the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín.

The children had the opportunity to learn each of the necessary steps in the event of an emergency of this type, "from knowing the correct position to open the airways to the resuscitation maneuver". All these practices had the collaboration of several members of Civil Protection.

“It is necessary that we promote this type of workshop not only to children but to the general population, because it can help save many lives. We must all be prepared to act in the event of any emergency,” said the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Yurena Cubas.
