"Train and Employ" is the project that the Department of Social Services and the Local Employment and Development Agency have urgently launched "as a way to address the labor crisis suffered by the residents of our municipality in particular and the island in general," according to the municipal head of the area, Emilia Perdomo.
The Councilor for Social Services of the Arrecife City Council, Emilia Perdomo, presided over the welcome ceremony, this Monday, for the first participants in the job placement project "Train and Employ." The participants in this project will obtain the necessary training that could, in the future, open the doors to the island's labor market.
The project is carried out thanks to the agreements reached with Dinosol Supermarkets, and thanks to which the participants will have immediate access to a job due to the insertion commitment that has been signed between the parties.
In the first phase of the project, two training courses related to the commerce sector and customer service will be taught, in which a total of thirty students have enrolled.
After the summer, the second phase is expected to be executed, which will contain at least the same number of people, and it is expected that between the two phases the level of job placement of the attendees will amount to at least 50%.
