The Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote announces 5 new firefighter driver positions

The Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote has announced five new firefighter driver positions, which were vacant, through the competitive examination system. The call, together with the regulatory bases of the selective tests for the provision of these positions in property, were published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Las Palmas (BOP) on February 12, as well as in the Edict Board and on the Consortium's website.

“Among the tasks required to fill these positions”, explains the Security and Emergency Councilor, Francisco J. Aparicio, “is firefighting, rescue and salvage, which involves the handling of instrumental material, the driving of vehicles and machinery, as well as the handling of rescue and salvage boats, which is why it is required to be in possession of the permits that enable the driving of vehicles, machinery and boats that currently exist in the Fire Stations of the consortium”.

 

Requirements

Those interested in participating in the selective tests must meet a series of requirements, such as having Spanish nationality, being 16 years of age and not exceeding, where appropriate, the maximum age of compulsory retirement; being in possession of the title of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education or equivalent and, due to the needs of the service, the class C + E driving license is also required, without restrictive condition limiting the weight of the vehicle and class B driving license, as well as possessing the title of Recreational Boat Skipper (PER).

Applicants must also pass the five eliminatory tests, such as the psychotechnical test aimed at verifying that the aptitudes and personality traits of the applicants are the most suitable for the function to be performed; a second test of physical exercises; a third theoretical knowledge test; a fourth practical test where the Court will ask the applicants a series of questions about the knowledge of tools and materials of the profession, their manual dexterity and precision control in their use and, finally, a fifth test consisting of an exhaustive medical examination.

With respect to the applications to take part in the selective process, they must be addressed to the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, must conform to Annex I model and may be submitted through the Electronic Headquarters, or in person, in the General Registry of the Consortium, from 08:00 to 14:00 hours, from Monday to Friday (except holidays), located in Tenderete street s/n of Arrecife, telephone 928 816 308.

The deadline for submitting applications to the competitive examination will be twenty working days, counting from the day following the publication of the extracted announcement of this call in the Official State Gazette.
