The minority government group of the Canarian Coalition in the Teguise City Council celebrated its first year on August 29, and the nationalists wanted to take stock of this time, in which they say they have carried out a "responsible" job. In a press release, CC recalled that a motion of censure presented together with the PSOE once again raised Juan Pedro Hernández as mayor of the municipality. "At that time we understood that, out of responsibility, it was the only possible decision and today we can say that it was a correct decision", this formation has valued.
"There are many projects on the table and, although we are aware that only one year has passed, we continue working on the Soo corrals or the Timple Museum and we will soon offer realities", the formation stressed.
According to the perception of CC, the residents of Teguise "have noticed the change" that the municipality has undergone, which, instead of being "abandoned and forgotten", has begun to "recover its splendor and care for which it was once envied". The Local Committee of CC in Teguise has congratulated, through this press release, its five councilors of the government group for "their work and effort" and has encouraged them to "carry out all the initiatives that are still pending".
The Canarian Coalition has assured that this government group has opted for tourism promotion, cleaning, maintenance of infrastructures and public roads, the lighting of Teguise, the launch of the interior bus line between Costa Teguise and Famara, the unblocking of the canopy plan, the new facilities in La Graciosa and the housing office. "We are committed to projects such as the Tahíche road, while others used it electorally and without thinking about the general interest. Today, residents and users are beginning to see the results", he said.
Closer to the citizens
According to this party, the government group led by Juan Pedro Hernández has prioritized "direct contact with the residents, visiting towns in the municipality and launching initiatives such as the website, the virtual mailbox or if I were mayor". "Initiatives that show and demonstrate, once again, that in Teguise the important thing is you", CC has assured.
According to this formation, the councilors have gone through "difficult situations" to direct the destinies of this municipality, especially because they have found an opposition "more determined to demonstrate our minority than to carry out initiatives or to form true majorities". "On August 29, 2009 we assumed a responsibility that we will continue to maintain, giving the best of each of us to leave behind other times of dissidence and abandonment", CC has indicated.
"We do not expect thanks for doing our job, among other things, because it is our obligation to do it and to launch all those initiatives that are beneficial for the municipality. What is more, we want to give thanks for having allowed us, in this year, to do what we know how to do best and what we are in politics for: To work for Teguise", the nationalists have stressed.
