The Canary Islands Government agreed this Thursday to open an informative file to the company Unelco-Endesa to investigate its possible responsibilities regarding the delay in restoring the electricity supply in Tenerife.

This was announced by the president of the Canary Islands Government, Adán Martín, who indicated that Unelco-Endesa has informed the Executive that it has replaced a 66-kilovolt cable from the Caletillas plant that was taken out of service by tropical storm "Delta", which will allow the electricity supply to be restored today to the metropolitan area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna, as well as in Tegueste.

The light has been out in this area and in other municipalities of the Canary Islands since Monday afternoon, when the wind that accompanied the tropical storm knocked down numerous high-voltage towers of Unelco-Endesa.
