The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, and the Minister of Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, visited this Friday morning the recently completed works on the road that connects Mozaga and El Peñón. The Island Corporation points out that a road for which residents have been waiting for "nearly four decades" is being reopened, and in which "more than one million euros" was invested, co-financed by the Cabildo and the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN).

The island's president, María Dolores Corujo, was pleased that this section, "so necessary for accessibility and connection of the north with the rest of the island, both for citizens and for goods and other needs," could finally be reopened.

“We are happy that the planned deadlines have been met and that we have been able to reopen in a timely and proper manner a road that will provide safety and comfort when driving,” Corujo said.

By virtue of the recently completed actions, the Minister of Public Works, Alfredo Mendoza, wanted to show "his satisfaction" with the final result of the works and for having solved "a historical demand of residents of the north of the Island."

In this way, Mendoza detailed that the works contemplated "the renovation of the pavement of the section, the installation of stone walls for the structural support of the road, the placement of barriers and the renovation and painting of new signage."
