The Cabildo of Lanzarote has made hotel rooms available to the island's healthcare personnel. The president of the institution states that she has responded in this way "to the concern of workers in the sector who fear returning to their homes, where they live with people with risk factors, such as age or certain pathologies that place them in a situation of special vulnerability" to the coronavirus.

To this end, this Monday the healthcare personnel of the José Molina Orosa Hospital and the Insular Hospital were given the necessary information so that whoever considers it appropriate can take advantage of this alternative accommodation to avoid putting their family at risk of contagion.

"Our healthcare personnel is our first line of defense in this battle against the coronavirus and is exposed to risky situations to protect society as a whole. Their responsibility and generosity can only be explained by the vocation of public service that drives them in their task and must be responded to by the administration by making all necessary efforts to protect them and improve the conditions in which they carry out their work", said Corujo.

The hotel enabled for this purpose is the Gloria Izaro which, as will be recalled, was made available to the Cabildo by its owner. The president wanted to end by thanking this gesture once again.

"The important thing is not only that the Cabildo can use the facilities. The most important thing is the message that is launched with this offer: defeating the coronavirus is a mission in which each and every one of us has an important role to play", Corujo stressed.
