The Strike Committee of the municipal bus service of Arrecife and Comisiones Obreras have denounced that the company Arrecife Bus is dedicated to picking up passengers with intercity buses within the capital, thus providing urban services, according to what they have learned from users.

This was transmitted by the general secretary of CCOO in Lanzarote, Vicky Sande, who stated that in this way "the minimum services decreed by the General Directorate of Labor are being violated", in the face of the indefinite strike that bus workers have been carrying out since last Wednesday, against the privatization of the service management.

According to Sande, Arrecife Bus "can only drop off passengers at the interchange or at the bus station, but never at urban stops."

The Strike Committee holds the mayor of Arrecife, Cándido Reguera, responsible for this "illegality", and CCOO announces that they will file a complaint this Wednesday with the General Directorate of Labor.

For his part, the Councilor for Transportation of Arrecife, Lorenzo Lemaur, affirms that this fact "is nothing new" and that the stops that intercity buses make within Arrecife "have been made for years, because the City Council authorized it in its day."
