The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium has officially presented the beta version of ‘ACESLAN’, an innovative mobile application designed to advance the digitalization of security and emergency services on the island.
This technological project has been developed over the past few months thanks to an interdisciplinary collaboration with students from the Higher Level Training Cycles in Emergency Coordination and Civil Protection, Web Application Development, and the Specialization Course in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data at CIFP Zonzamas.
The president of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, has expressed his satisfaction with the result of this initiative, stating that the security of the future “inevitably involves innovation and the intelligent use of technology”. “With ACESLAN, we not only manage to modernize our channels, but we also open a direct, agile, and intuitive way to be closer to the citizens of Lanzarote and La Graciosa when they need us most,” declared the president.
Aparicio has placed special emphasis on the talent of the six students who have integrated their technical profiles into this work environment, highlighting that “it is a source of pride to see how the public education of our island directly translates into tools that improve the protection of the entire community”. Aparicio took the opportunity to warmly congratulate CIFP Zonzamas, “for the work and dedication in creating this application”.

The tool is born with the clear aim of promoting a culture of prevention and self-protection in the seven municipalities of the island. Among its most notable functionalities, ACESLAN features a system that will allow users to report incidents in real-time by sending images and the exact geolocation of the risk, which will optimize response times and the coordination of personnel in the face of any emergency.
Likewise, the application will serve as an official channel for the immediate dissemination of alerts, recommendations, institutional news, and a direct chat for contact.
In this first phase of pilot launch, the application will be tested jointly with the Civil Protection groups of Lanzarote, who will act as the first validators of the system to propose improvements before the tool is definitively opened to the general public.
Finally, President Francisco J. Aparicio wanted to praise the strategic alliance with the Department of Security and Environment of CIFP Zonzamas, a collaboration that is now in its seventh consecutive year. “This union between the educational and operational spheres is consolidated as an indispensable engine for the development of innovative projects in security matters, demonstrating that institutional cooperation is the key to continuing to build more resilient and protected islands,” he concluded.
