Millo pineapples are the agricultural products that have most increased their price at origin during the last year in the Canary Islands.

In March 2026, each kilo of millo pineapple had a price of 1.29 euros, while in the same month of the previous year the price was 0.71 (an increase of 81.7%). This is one of the data provided by the Agricultural Prices Statistics published by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).

Products such as spring onions (75.2%), broccoli (52.3%), eggplants (46.0%), and zucchini (45.9%) have also experienced increases.

 

What agricultural products have seen the biggest price drops?

On the other hand, carrots and papayas are the products that have seen the biggest price drops at origin during the last year. In the case of carrots, the annual decrease has been 35.2% (in March 2025 they were sold for 1.42 euros per kilo and this year for 0.92). Papayas have dropped from the 1.40 euros they cost last year to the 0.93 euros paid now, a decrease of 33.6%.

Products such as pumpkins (-31.1%), potatoes (-24.8%), and oranges (-7.4%) also decreased in price.
