The Department of Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Maite Corujo, has resolved the granting of subsidies in the area of social action for a total amount of 501,830 euros.

These grants will benefit 23 projects developed by different associations, federations, foundations and non-profit entities, which develop projects in the area of Social Services aimed at improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable groups in Arrecife. In addition, projects of a supra-municipal scope were considered as long as their main action benefited the population of the municipality.

The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Finance, Echedey Eugenio, has stressed the budgetary effort made to guarantee these grants, stressing that "the investment in social action is a priority for this government team. We want the resources to reach those who need it most and that these entities can continue to perform their valuable work. We are going to continue supporting the third sector, its work is essential."

In the same vein, the Councilor for Social Welfare, Maite Corujo, has highlighted the importance of these grants and stressed that "these subsidies allow associations to continue with an essential work. As an institution, we reaffirm our commitment to social welfare and care for people in vulnerable situations."

The call for these grants, published last May, established a system of competitive concurrence, ensuring that the funds were distributed equitably among projects of social interest.
