Almost twelve years after being formally constituted, San Borondón has disappeared from the Registry of Parties, thus consummating its announced dissolution. The legal representative of the formation, Jerónimo Robayna, and the secretary, María Dolores Rodríguez Crespo, addressed the Ministry of the Interior on June 16, requesting that the registration be canceled, and their request has already been attended to.

This was announced by Robayna himself, who has made public the resolution of the Ministry, dictated through the General Directorate of Interior Policy and Electoral Processes. However, as he did when announcing the dissolution of the party, Jerónimo Robayna has not made any statements now either and has limited himself to referring the media to that writing.

As he limited himself to pointing out then, the decision was adopted in an assembly held on May 25. "We say goodbye as a party to this conejera society, gratefully acknowledging the support received in these twelve years of life. We will not make any public statements, since whatever we say, everyone will draw their own conclusions and their half-truths. If there is anyone who knows the truth about San Borondón, it is us and we want it to remain that way," he stated in that brief statement.

Breakups and internal divisions in its expansion

San Borondón began its journey in the municipality of Tías, where Jerónimo Robayna was a councilor and became part of the government group. Later, they also tried to reach the rest of the island and managed to obtain representation in Yaiza with a councilor. However, the break with Juan Monzón before the end of the last term - who later moved to the lists of the Popular Party - meant that most of the team they had in this municipality left with him.

In the past elections, San Borondón ended up sealing an alliance with Coalición Canaria, for which they presented joint lists. However, only two representatives of the party managed to enter the institutions: Juan Manuel Sosa in the Cabildo and Carlos Alférez in the Yaiza City Council.

Months after the elections, Jerónimo Robayna announced that his party was breaking the alliance with CC, accusing him of having breached the agreement, and then Sosa entered the Cabildo government together with the PSOE and the PP. However, last May, Robayna publicly asked the councilor to leave the government group and Alférez not to join the one in Arrecife. His request was not heeded by either of the two public officials, who claim that they had been unable to speak with the party president for months, and that they had not been convened to any assembly either.

In that same statement in which he made that demand public, Jerónimo Robayna also pointed to the possible dissolution of San Borondón, which he carried out a few weeks later and which is now official.
