San Bartolomé will have the "largest budget" in its history in 2024. The Government team will take to the next plenary session, which will take place next Wednesday, December 20, the municipal budgets for 2024. Accounts with an allocation of "31 million euros", and whose main objective will be the "well-being and improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants" of the municipality.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, assures that these accounts "are one more example of the commitment that the town hall has with its citizens, who are the center of political action and the cornerstone of the municipal project."
In this sense, Pérez highlights that these budgets "maintain our promise to continue a responsible economic policy, prioritizing social investment, as well as the promotion and development of infrastructure."
For his part, the Councilor for Economy and Finance, Antonio Rocío, points out that "San Bartolomé is today one of the most economically solvent municipalities in Lanzarote", and therefore, "in 2024 we will have exciting and realistic budgets, destined to cover the most pressing needs of the municipality."
And he adds that "from the Government team we are aware of the needs of our neighbors", so these budgets "increase all items linked to social services and direct attention to the entire population."
In this regard, he highlights that the budget for 2024 has "24 million euros of own funds and 7 million from a financial operation" destined to face "works and infrastructures" necessary to continue advancing in the improvement of the municipality.
The progress in the "provision of services" in the municipality and the "development of the local economy" focus on budgets that aim to "improve" the economic situation and the quality of life of citizens.
In this way, the amount dedicated to the provision, maintenance and improvement of public services and facilities is reinforced. In addition, in response to the social situation, the budget item allocated to social services "increases" compared to this budget year.
On the other hand, the 2024 budgets maintain direct aid to families, increasing the amount allocated to study aid, transport scholarships, and school supplies aid, among others.
San Bartolomé will continue with the implementation of measures aimed at promoting employment and boosting the local economy, with policies aimed at both existing companies and encouraging the implementation of new business opportunities, which in turn contribute to generating new jobs in the municipality.
