"Not all parking spaces will be lost" due to the Playa Honda Urban Park, as Raúl de León, Councilor for Public Services and Roads of the San Bartolomé City Council, responded after the statement from the 'Los Charcos Windsurfing Club' to "stop the works" in an interview this Tuesday on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero.
"I have seen the request made by the windsurfing club and I want to say that: "Around 40 parking spaces will be gained", such as in the "football field area", he assures. It is true that "in the lower part of the park a series of parking spaces will be lost", he anticipates, but "others will be gained", such as those on the Playa Honda esplanade, adds the councilor.
"Around 40 parking spaces will be gained"
"We had some fear that some inconvenience would arise during the work", confesses the councilor. But the works will be carried out "within the established timeframe", confirms de León. Although "there are still some things to do".
He sends a clarifying message to the members of the 'Los Charcos Windsurfing Club': "We cannot have the parking spaces open while the works are being done", he points out.
The recent start of work on Mástil Street
As La Voz previously reported, the City Council began work on Mástil Street in Playa Honda this Monday, September 18. According to de León, with the work "we wanted to try to connect the key points of Playa Honda in an accessible way".
A work that de León has been "visiting this Tuesday", and concludes that "it is in full swing".
