La Tiñosa
The conditioning works of the historic center of La Tiñosa, which are already in an advanced state and affect Teide, Marangalla, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Los Verdes and Los Infantes streets, have an investment of close to 310,000 euros, and consist of paving the roads, widening the sidewalks, underground channeling of existing lines and providing public lighting in the area.
Likewise, the works of the conditioning project of the commercial area of Puerto del Carmen have also begun, where the City Council, in collaboration with the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the Government of the Canary Islands through the Agreement for the Promotion of Open Commercial Areas of the Canary Islands, will improve the commercial area of La Tiñosa, with an investment of 600,000 euros, half of which (300,000) is provided by the regional executive and the rest, the two local administrations in equal parts (150,000 each).
Execution period
The project, which will have an execution period of 6 months, will be developed in the commercial areas located between Juan Carlos I and Roque Nublo streets, with the aim of improving the basic equipment conditions and aesthetic harmonization in order to stimulate local commerce, recover, maintain and promote the center of La Tiñosa.
The project's actions are aimed at recovering an area that is deteriorated due to its antiquity, as it corresponds to the first period of development of Puerto del Carmen.
Thus, in Jameos street, in the section between Botabara and Juan Carlos I streets, the sidewalk will be widened and the old pipes will be replaced, the entire road will be repaved and street furniture and parking spaces will be introduced.
Likewise, the Olivín Center square will undergo a general image change of street furniture and pavement. The existing vegetation will be respected and large planters will be built for the palm trees.
Pavement and street furniture
In El Poril street, the action mainly affects the pavement and street furniture. A small square will be created in which benches and planters and a wooden pergola will be placed. Likewise, part of the central wall that divides the street in two will be demolished to provide a planter.
In Juan Carlos I street, in the section between Los Jameos and the Passage towards Roque del Oeste, a modification of the alignment of the sidewalk will be made, extending it at the expense of the battery parking spaces that become online. In the aforementioned passage, its structure is changed, the access ramp is restricted to expand the platform, where a central body of street furniture will be placed, with benches of different sizes and 2 wooden pergolas.
In Roque Nublo street, between Bajamar and La Gomera, the sidewalk will be widened, street furniture and lighting will be provided and the aerial line will be channeled under it. This action will continue along Bajamar street, in its section between Roque Nublo and El Hierro.
