During the interview, the deputy considered that it is necessary to take into account "the connection of the terrorist attack, how that attack occurred, against whom it was directed and what speech is read at the funerals the following day by the daughter of that person".
In that sense, he assured that it is a family that "must be understood and supported in their pain". But, he added: "I am completely sure that the message that the victim's daughter read was not in accordance with what is required on a day of reflection".
For the CC deputy, the afternoon in which that speech was read "a great opportunity to make a public demonstration was lost". "An opportunity that we should have taken advantage of," he concluded.

Sandra Carrasco, daughter of the former socialist councilor of Mondragón, Isaías Carrasco, assassinated by ETA in the presence of his family and without an escort, read a manifesto during her father's funeral in which she urged everyone to vote as a response to the attack.
"My father has been murdered for defending freedom, democracy and socialist ideas. He has always been a brave man, who has shown his face, and those who have killed him have been cowards, cowards they have been, who have no balls. But above all I want to ask one thing, and that is that the murder of my father is not manipulated by anyone. I am not going to tolerate it, neither I, nor my family nor anyone. My mother, everyone will go to vote. And that is what I ask, that everyone vote. And those who want to show solidarity with my father and with our pain, go massively to vote on Sunday to tell the murderers that we are not going to take a single step back," he declared.
