The CEO of the Tourist Centers, Benjamín Perdomo, has defended "the productivity supplement on the company's profits" to pay 10% of the profits to the workers of the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism (CACT) to the workers.

Perdomo has responded to the accusations of the candidates of the Canarian Coalition Pedro San Ginés and Oswaldo Betancort, who insisted that the benefits of the Centers should go to the public coffers.

"They talk about distributing profits, but we have to explain to them what a productivity supplement means," Perdomo began. The CEO explains that this initiative consists of, if the objectives are met, paying the canon of the Cabildo and the town councils, as well as "absolutely everything we have to pay", and then 10% of the company's profits are distributed among the staff.

"It is a productivity supplement on the company's profits," he reiterated during his speech on the radio program Buenos días, Lanzarote. Perdomo gives the example of the Tax Network: "They also approved a productivity supplement not long ago with their rules, how are we not going to do it?".

Benjamin Perdomo has also spoken about the collaboration of the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism in the subsidies to cultural groups, which Oswaldo Betancort and Pedro San Ginés reproach. "He is saying that the Centers are not even there to help the murgas, that they do not have to continue working on cultural projects, that they do not have to continue doing concerts or supporting sports clubs. That is what the candidate for the Cabildo of the Canarian Coalition is saying, that the Centers are not there to help."

"What is the philosophy of the Centers, what were they created for, if not for the population of Lanzarote? The benefits of the CACT are already benefiting the citizens, in the aid to sports clubs, cultural associations," Perdomo stressed.

Benjamín Perdomo stressed that "they had reminded him" that when José Juan Lorenzo was CEO of the Centers, with the Canarian Coalition in the Cabildo, "he had already proposed it."
