The mayor of Yaiza and president of Unidos Por Yaiza (UPY), Óscar Noda, has questioned the recent creation of the Yaiza Siempre (YAS) party, stating that "it has no interest in the municipality" and that they are only attending the elections to "harm" the formation he leads.
Noda made these statements in relation to those made by the president of YAS, Luis Ureta, about that the group is born with the objective of "recovering the UPY project."
"They are running not to win, but to harm us and take away votes. I believe that elections are there to try to improve the municipality, not to annoy the rest," defended the mayor, in an interview on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero.
Faced with the "political wars", focused on UPY
Although the president recognizes that it is "legitimate and normal" to create other parties, he asserts that what citizens need now are "solutions" and no more "political wars."
Therefore, he affirms that he is "focused on UPY", thinking about future projects to get the town ahead and "seeking collaborations" that enhance the well-being of the inhabitants of Yaiza.
"When UPY arrived, we were able to manage a bankrupt town hall and get it to be spoken well of now, and this is the goal we are focused on," concluded Noda.
