Niz indicates that her departure from CC has been motivated by "lack of confidence" and focuses on her new party

The former mayor of Haría, Chaxiraxi Niz, has explained that her departure from the Canarian Coalition and subsequent move to the group of non-attached councilors was motivated by the "lack of confidence" in her figure and has announced that she is already working on the creation of a new party "based on a unique and exclusive commitment to Haría."

Niz detailed in an interview on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero that her departure and that of her colleagues, former councilors Alejandro Fernández and Armando Bonilla, arose as a result of "the last instruction sent by the party," where in her opinion, "there was no 100% confidence in my figure after having been in charge of the municipality for a year."

A decision to avoid tensions

Faced with this situation, the politician indicates that "in order not to create more tensions, since it had been a very complicated legislature, we decided to continue as councilors of CC after my resignation as mayor, even knowing that we were not going to be part of the future elections in 2023."

"Many residents were surprised because they told us that we had to stay there, that there is very little time left, that it is a quite complicated legislature, with many changes," Niz relates.

Likewise, regarding the decision of CC to place Víctor Robayna as a candidate, the former mayor emphasizes that she went "to the party as second, without any other intention" and entered to lead "after having a background."

Now, she has left the formation with the feeling "that there is much work to be done."

New "opportunity and illusion" for the municipality

Therefore, the former mayor has announced that they are creating "a project with people of all ages," away from political disciplines and that still does not have a audited name, but does have a clear purpose: "A unique and exclusive commitment to Haría."

"I do not criticize this discipline," Niz indicates, "because it is not only CC; PSOE and PP are parties that owe themselves to it and, evidently, when it is at the island level, the municipal interests are not exclusively taken into account," but she wants to do "things differently."

The politician indicates that they have the support of many residents and many people, since it is an idea that is not closed to anyone: "Everyone fits in regardless of where they come from. I would be lying if I did not say that there are people who have already told us that they are going to support us, that we can count on it."

Therefore, she rules out that the formation of this new party is counterproductive, since it will be formed by "a group that will not give the sensation of another party, but of a new opportunity and illusion to lead our municipality."

Niz, Fernández and Bonilla will not hand over the seat

Regarding the next steps to follow, Niz has stated that this same Thursday, both she and Fernández and Bonilla will carry out "the registration to unsubscribe from CC."

Regarding the seat, she relates that after having valued a lot what to do with it, they have decided not to hand it over: "There are four months left, it would be to remove everything and I think that Haría has already suffered enough political disagreements to continue renewing staff."
