The councilor of the non-attached group Nicanor Rodríguez has criticized the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, whom he has asked "where are the jobs he promised for the town." Rodríguez raised this question in a statement, one day after learning that this municipality was the only one on the island where the unemployment rate did not fall in June. In both May and June, Tinajo registered a total of 729 unemployed.
Faced with this news, Rodríguez has described the Tinajo government group as "ineffective" and recalled that in the last plenary session of the Corporation, he presented a motion aimed at "reactivating the municipality's economy, bringing tourists closer to shops and places of interest such as cheese factories, wineries and restaurants", but CC did not support it. "To our surprise, he voted against it, claiming that he has a project for the municipality, emphasizing that it is a macro-project", recalled Nicanor Rodríguez.
Rodríguez believes that the mayor is "more concerned" about the rumors about the political pacts that could be reached from the group of non-attached than about reactivating the municipality's economy. "Perhaps he is trying to justify the 600 euros that the councilors of the government group charge for attending three meetings. Mr. Mayor, we see many meetings, but few results", he lamented.
