Jacobo Medina, denounces "the delay that is occurring in the payment of scholarships and study grants corresponding to the call for the last academic year 2021-2022."
Medina, considers that the socialist “Dolores Corujo has turned young students into victims of her terrible management at the head of the island institution.” "It is intolerable that the progressive left-wing government of PSOE and Podemos takes half a year to process scholarships that were announced in October 2022," he emphasizes.
"Seven months later, the Cabildo has not even made public the definitive list of beneficiaries after the correction period," the candidate states.
“This is the reality behind Corujo's false social discourse; that of students who are forced to leave the island to pursue their studies and then have to wait months and months to receive scholarships that help them cope with the extra expenses that it means for families to support their children outside of Lanzarote,” Medina criticizes.
He points out that “if the government were really aware and concerned about the delicate economic situation in which many families find themselves, they would prioritize this type of very aid, essential in some cases, to continue their training.”
