The PSOE candidate for mayor of Teguise, Marcos Bergaz, has registered the 21 members of the list that will accompany him in the next elections on May 28. Surrounded by some of its members, the socialist presented his team to the Electoral Board.
Bergaz highlighted: “We are going out to win and govern for all citizens, without distinction, because I want to be a mayor for everyone.”
“For this, I have set up a team that will only seek solutions to the problems of the residents and take advantage of the enormous potential that our municipality has, wasted after 14 uninterrupted years of the Canarian Coalition in the government.”
In this sense, Bergaz underlined “the preparation and desire of the human group” that he coordinates, “ready to govern”, as well as “the work done during the four years” in which they have acted as “an alternative to the CC government in Teguise”.
“It's time for change, it's time to bet on political alternation and do things better in Teguise and La Graciosa, which is what moves all the men and women who make up the list of the socialist party,” said the Teguise leader.
To finish, he launched a message to participate next 28M: “More than 6,000 residents of Teguise did not go to the polls in 2019, we invite them to exercise their right, because in our municipality everyone counts.”
The candidate's profile
Marcos Bergaz Villalba was born in Arrecife but has been a resident of La Villa de Teguise since 2006. An official of the secondary school teachers' corps, he has worked as a Professor at the IES de Teguise. He extends his “teaching passion” with that of a tutor professor at the National Distance Education University (UNED).
He has a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and in Higher Studies of Music from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, his “clear vocation” for public service led him to also complete a master's degree in Public Administration, Public Policies and Taxation from the Special Institutional Center of the UNED.
"Of a marked family character, married and father of two children", Bergaz highlights that "he makes time for his other passions: running and football, although with his boots hung up, the latter has led to working as a futsal referee”.

The socialist list for the Teguise and La Graciosa City Council is led by Marcos Bergaz accompanied by Jenifer Galán, Benito Rodríguez, Judith Fontes, Tanausu Reyes, Ángela Cañavera, David Asorey, Sabina Vizcaíno, Ivan Felipe, Delia Hernández, Jaime Guerra, Noelia Umpierrez, Orlando Duque, Isabel Martin, Matías Garcia Guadalupe, Rocío Arredondo, Rubén Cejudo, María Ángeles Toledo Henández, Benjamín Machín, Mari Nieves Duque and Jesús García.
