The Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Yaiza City Council has welcomed today a new member of the plenary with the inauguration of Lorena Martín Cabrera, who joins the PP municipal group to replace Guayo Rodriguez, who sadly passed away on April 6.
This circumstance marked the beginning of a plenary session full of emotion for all those present and that the new councilor acknowledged living with "mixed emotions." After swearing in, Lorena Martín thanked the warm welcome given by all political groups, highlighted "the passion and dedication" that her predecessor always demonstrated and expressed her personal commitment to the residents of the municipality. She also expressed her firm will to continue defending their demands and needs, as she has been doing so far with her work within the Local Committee.
For his part, her colleague and municipal spokesperson, Juan Monzón, highlighted the value of Lorena Martín when it comes to carrying out her new public responsibility in the City Council, because she has been doing so for some years as Coordinator and head of Social Action of the PP of Yaiza. "In the end, we are all part of a team that has only one objective: to help and contribute to the improvement of the municipality and the well-being of the residents."
In addition to her organic position in the Local Committee, in the last General Elections, Lorena Martín was part of the PP candidacy to the Congress of Deputies for the constituency of Las Palma
The president of the Popular Party of Lanzarote, Astrid Pérez, who for agenda reasons could not attend the inauguration ceremony, has expressed her "pride in being able to count on committed people like her, who responsibly assume the challenge of working for their municipality." "I am more than convinced that you will do an exceptional job together with your colleague Juan Monzón and following the legacy of our beloved Guayo Rodríguez, whom we will never forget and will always have present," she said.
Both Lorena Martín and Juan Monzón have been supported in the plenary session by the general secretary of the PP of Lanzarote and vice president of the Cabildo, María Tovar, and other members of the party and the local PP team.
