The Cabildo of Lanzarote organizes the II Island Walk Ponte en Marcha, which will take place this Saturday in Mancha Blanca. The event will have the participation of 500 seniors aged 60 and over from all over the island. The activity is part of the +Vital Active Rejuvenation Plan and will be guided by the biologist and environmental educator of Senderismo Lanzarote, Nacho Romero.

The Councilor of the Elderly Area and Intergenerational Relations of the Island Council, Nori Machín, assures that the main objective of this initiative is to promote physical activity and encourage healthy habits among approximately half a thousand participants. In addition, the Councilor recalls that this action is carried out in collaboration with the town councils and senior citizens' associations of Lanzarote.

Nacho Romero, as a hiking guide, explains that this recreational event consists of a circular route that will have six stops, distributed in various points of the town, where activities related to the cultural heritage, environment or history of the island will be carried out.

In this sense, the stops are related to the church of Los Dolores, the legend of Juana Rafaela, the rural landscape Despedregar and Arenar, the volcanoes of 1824, Chabocos and local history (Viciosa).
