The Municipal Library “Nieves Castillo Bonilla” of La Villa de Teguise extends its public service hours, offering a continuous day to users from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. From the Council they consider that it is a significant modification, since until now the hours were in split shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, is pleased with this improvement in the service, which was “a demand from users". "Many people from inside and outside the municipality come to our library to study or consult bibliographic collections of great importance,” he adds.
In this sense, the Councilor for Libraries, Sara Bermúdez, appreciates that the Personnel area of the City Council "has promoted the improvement of human resources to be able to open the Municipal Library twelve hours in uninterrupted hours.” In addition, she highlights “the professionalism of its staff, essential for the proper functioning of this service.”
From the City Council they point out that the Municipal Library “Nieves Castillo Bonilla” of Teguise, located in the Clavijo y Fajardo square of La Villa, "is framed in a heritage building that houses an important bibliographic collection for research, in addition to monthly novelties and a wide section dedicated to children's books, as well as study rooms and computers with internet connection."
