Socialist José Luis Aparicio Sánchez has been appointed as the new manager of Health Services of Lanzarote, thus returning to a position he had already held. His first appointment occurred four years ago, but after the breakdown of the pact between CC and the PSOE he had to leave the post. Now, the new Government of the Canary Islands led by Ángel Víctor Torres has once again counted on him.

Aparicio, who was also a councilor of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, is a doctor specialized in pediatrics and has worked as a neonatologist at the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital. "He has a master's degree in Bioethics and is a university specialist in purchasing systems and management development of health centers," they emphasize from the party.

His appointment is added to that of Noelia Umpliérrez, who was also appointed this Thursday as the new director of the Health Area of Lanzarote, thus being the highest authority on the island of the Canary Health Service.

"It is a pride that the autonomous Executive has responsible, trained people with the necessary values to manage an area as important for the people of Lanzarote as is Health. I am convinced that they will put people first, as has been our commitment from the beginning. The people of Lanzarote need a dignified, effective Health Service that works, and I believe that we are closer to achieving it," said the general secretary of the socialist party, María Dolores Corujo.
