Jesús Machín, mayor of Tinajo, was this Thursday on the program Buenos días, Lanzarote of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero to answer some questions, including about the internal situation of Coalición Canaria before the elections to the general secretariat of the party in Lanzarote.
Machín began by saying that "people are not used to these processes that happen, I think it should be done in such a way that whoever wins, won, but this falls very surprisingly in the parties".
Also, he revealed that "this Wednesday I accompanied Samuel Martín to Haría and we are going to all the committees and all the towns, it is a democratic and fun way." In this meeting, he coincided with Pedro San Ginés, who told him that "I hope you do what I did and it was very brave to tell me so because this process already happened when I presented myself with Mario Pérez, what happens is that Adán Martín came to Lanzarote and was very clear telling me because who had the support of the Lanzarote society was me".
Regarding the possibility that Samuel Martín is elected as general secretary of CC in Lanzarote, Machín has stated that "he has the illusion that he will win". "I have nothing against Pedro San Ginés but I defend Samuel because I think he is the person who can create illusion, closeness of people to the party and he is also a very humble person," he continued.
Regarding the comments about whether the party will break whether one or the other candidate wins, the mayor has said that "it doesn't have to, if the one who wins is able to lose when there are two lists, there has to be integration of one and the other".
Finally, to the press release sent by Pedro San Ginés in which he announced the endorsements he had obtained and Olivia Duque and in which it was stated that "it is unknown if Martín's will have any support, apart from his own", Machín commented that "it was out of tone and out of place". However, in the radio program, the mayor stated that "Pedro San Ginés sent an apology via WhatsApp asking for forgiveness in this regard".
