Ginés Quintana will head the list of Alternative to the Arrecife City Council

The Citizen Alternative Assembly ratified on Thursday night some of the names that will head the lists of the formation in different municipalities of the island. In the midst of the crisis and the "leaks" that have been registered in the party, the newly created Electoral Commission, has designated the candidates of Arrecife, Teguise and San Bartolomé.

Thus, Ginés Quintana, current councilor of the Consistory, will head the list of Citizen Alternative in the Arrecife City Council, while Miguel Ángel Figueras is the candidate for the municipality of Teguise and Juan Carlos Martínez the one for San Bartolomé. Now, it remains to define the heads of the list for the rest of the institutions, and also who will accompany those already designated. For the moment, Ginés Quintana already advances that "it is likely that Andrés Barreto will be number two in the Arrecife City Council, although nothing is confirmed".

Everything indicates that the next name to be made public will be the candidate for the mayoralty of Tías, although for now they do not want to advance anything. "Several names are being considered, but it is the Commission that has to choose," says Quintana.

The election of these people is being carried out by the Electoral Commission, which cannot propose any member who has headed any list in previous elections, as approved by the Citizen Alternative Assembly on December 14. A decision that further confronted the two sectors of the formation and that has culminated in the abandonment of the same by the current councilor in the Cabildo, Pedro Hernández, who although he maintains his councilor's seat, is starting a new project to compete in the next elections.
