The Lanzarote Forum against gender violence, which brings together women's associations, institutions, political and trade union forces, calls on the population once again this year to publicly display their rejection of all kinds of sexist aggressions.
The demonstration on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will take place in Arrecife on Friday, November 24, starting at 6:00 p.m. and will depart from Cuatro Esquinas, running through the urban center until it reaches Islas Canarias Park.
There, a performance will be staged by the participants in the Meeting Place project of San Bartolomé, and then a manifesto will be read and tribute will be paid to the victims of sexist violence in Spain.
So far this year, 93 women have been murdered by sexist violence according to feminicidios.net, in the official figure there are 52 women who died at the hands of their partners or ex-partners. Since the official statistics began in 2003, 1,237 victims have been counted.
