The Popular Party's candidate for Mayor of Haria, David Álvarez, believes that the City Council should promote the burying of the wiring in the historical center of Haría, seeking economic collaboration from the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands.

For the popular candidate, the time has come for the municipal government to launch "actions to improve and condition the urban area" because "until now everything has remained in announcements and wet paper."

"It makes no sense that we continue talking about the possibilities that the municipality has from the point of view of rural tourism, nature tourism, or blue tourism, and nothing is done to advance along that path," denounces Álvarez, who advocates "starting to work at least on burying the wiring together with the recovery of the palm grove, two of the main attractions of the many that Haria has."

"For both projects, the involvement of higher administrations will be necessary since these are large-scale actions, but what is clear is that if we do not move, no one will come to solve our problems."

David Álvarez also points out the potential offered by coastal towns such as Arrieta, Punta Mujeres and Órzola from the point of view of blue tourism, a type of sustainable tourism linked to water sports such as swimming, surfing, diving and water skiing, or boat rides. These activities are compatible with the environment and would boost the local economy and job creation
