Ciudadanos (Cs) has urged this Monday the City Council of Yaiza to "demand the Cabildo of Lanzarote to install a pedestrian crossing on the road that divides the town of Las Casitas and goes to Femés".
This was expressed by the coordinator of the Cs group in Yaiza, Francisco Ramón, who explained that "residents have problems crossing from one side to the other because there is no pedestrian crossing, and, in addition, los cars circulate on it at high speed, so it is a situation that generates great danger."
"It is vital to ensure the safety of the residents of Las Casitas, and, for this, it is necessary to install one or several zebra crossings, because together with the existing traffic light, it would also serve as an element to ensure that cars respect the speed of the road," he said.
Likewise, Ramón stated that "the edge of the road from the Uga roundabout to Femés is very dirty and full of gorse, a situation that makes it difficult for pedestrians and cyclists to transit along the shoulder of the road." Therefore, Ciudadanos has also requested that a plan be launched to condition and clean the edge of this road.
