The Board of Directors and Management of Club La Santa are "losing patience" and have decided to publicly denounce that the center's expansion project has been stalled in the Canary Islands Government for ten months, which must transfer it to the regional Parliament to declare its public interest. The management alleges that "the delay and length of the process endangers 450 jobs" and, furthermore, slows down job creation on the island. They emphasize that "Club La Santa can employ 200 people in connection with the construction of the new hotel, and once the works are finished we will need to expand our staff from 400 to 500 people".

Regarding the job creation it would generate, the management of Club La Santa insists that "we can now provide work for 300 people, positions so needed in the midst of this crisis", but they are still waiting for "the Canary Islands Government to finish processing our request and send it to Parliament to declare it a project of general interest".

However, if their request does not prosper, they assure that "we would be forced to reduce the existing staff from 400 people to 150 if a new hotel is not built, as that would mean a deterioration in the quality of our product". In addition, they recall that they have been "spending time and money for six years complying with all the laws and rules relating to construction not for fun, but so that our project is approved". Thus, they criticize the Canary Islands Government and especially CC, for not having prioritized their project to create an Olympic village in La Santa. "We do not understand that the legalization of illegal hotels is more important than the creation and approval of a project that already complies with the legislation", they state in a press release.

The project includes a plot of 40,000 square meters, 300 tourist beds, two leisure pools, two 50-meter Olympic pools, a sports hall, an aerobics court, new squash and tennis courts and an entertainment golf area.
