The La Asomada-Mácher Children's and Primary Education Center (CEIP) has joined the circular economy strategy promoted by the Tías City Council through the selective collection of organic matter for its transformation into compost, thus reinforcing environmental education and sustainable waste management from an early age.

For the development of this initiative, FCC Medio Ambiente has provided the educational center with a JK 400 model composter, which will allow the educational community to learn in a practical way about the value of organic waste and its use as a natural resource.

The Tías City Council thanks the school for its involvement and emphasizes that "this type of project demonstrates that the circular economy begins in education. Involving schools is key to building a more responsible and environmentally committed citizenry".

The Councilor for Waste and Environment, Carmen Gloria Rodríguez, indicates that "school composting not only reduces waste but also turns organic waste into a valuable educational tool, compost for their school garden. We thank FCC Medio Ambiente for their collaboration and the continuous improvements they are making to the service and municipal waste management."

Within the project, the school cafeteria kitchen staff has received specific training to ensure proper separation of organic matter and the correct use of the composter, ensuring the success of the process from the origin of the waste.

The Tías City Council has expressly thanked FCC Medio Ambiente for its involvement, both for the loan of equipment and for its constant effort in improving the waste collection and treatment service in the municipality.

This campaign is part of the Tías cuídame (Tías, take care of me) strategy, which will continue to be developed in the rest of the municipality's educational centers, with activities aimed at students to promote responsible, sustainable habits aligned with the principles of the circular economy.
