Comisiones Obreras denounces in a press release issued this Tuesday that the workers belonging to the company Insae Infraestructuras S.A. of the public lighting service of Tías "have been suffering delays in the payment of salary and extra payments by the company." According to CCOOO's complaint, as of October 22, the workers have not received their salary corresponding to the month of September 2024.

"Faced with this painful situation, neither the workers nor the CCOO Lanzarote Trade Union Organization have been given any response, despite the different writings presented to the company and the City Council," the union assures.

According to CCOO, "this breach by the company INSAE INFRAESTRUCTURAS S.A in the municipality of Tías is not new, since this has been happening for months, reaching a very reprehensible limit in our opinion, with a clear responsibility on the part of the company and subsidiarily on the part of the City Council."

"The employees of this service are not responsible for the termination of the contract or for the actions of the City Council and the decisions made between the company and the Consistory," they criticize.

This situation is generating in many cases "levels of anxiety, work and personal stress that seriously affects their health, in addition to the economic problems of not having their salary," they say.

"From CCOO Lanzarote we call on all parties involved in this situation to take the necessary measures and comply with the rights of workers and that their pending salaries be paid immediately," they request.

"Given all of the above, this Trade Union Organization does not rule out calling a strike in the face of such a serious breach by the company," they reveal.
