Puerto del Carmen will analyze the future of tourism employment with the conference "Tourism and Employment: Reinventing to Survive"

Top-level experts will debate talent retention, absenteeism, and the impact of Artificial Intelligence on tourism in the El Fondeadero Hall on Friday, October 2nd.

The Canary Islands tourism sector is facing a moment of unprecedented transformation, confronting critical challenges that will define its long-term viability.

With the aim of analyzing and proposing solutions and within the framework of the 60th Anniversary of Puerto del Carmen, next Friday, October 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM, the Tourism and Employment Conference: "Reinventing to Survive" will be held at the Sala El Fondeadero.

The event is presented as an indispensable space for technical and human analysis for companies, professionals, and managers in the sector. In a labor environment undergoing profound transformation, the conference will directly address some of the most urgent challenges facing the archipelago's tourism industry, such as talent acquisition and retention, absenteeism, and new development perspectives that will make a difference in the booming Canary market.

It will also provide young professionals with ideas on how to focus their careers in the AI era or how to stand out in selection processes dictated by algorithms.

 

Topical Challenges

During the meeting, speakers and attendees will thoroughly analyze essential topics for the future development of the tourism sector. Among the key points of the program, strategies for staff retention and loyalty on the islands will be debated, an issue of vital importance in the current situation.
