The PP of Tías has criticized the "negligence that - it considers - has been implemented in the government team after the City Council, after its disagreements with the company in charge of electrical maintenance, allowed the contract to end without having planned a new tender to cover said service." This inability to manage the most essential public services is causing constant blackouts in public lighting in the municipality, which have left several towns and streets in darkness.

From the PP they consider that "the conflict of interest that may exist between the City Council and the concessionaire company has nothing to do with the citizens, who religiously pay their taxes” and who see a public service as basic as public lighting reduced because the government team has been unable to act diligently and prevent this situation from being reached. These problems, they assure from the PP, are the direct result of the usual lack of foresight and the null management capacity of the PSOE and Podemos government.

"This situation, which leaves some towns and streets in absolute darkness when night falls, is generating insecurity among residents and damaging the image of a municipality that depends to a large extent on tourism. Furthermore, with the imminent change of time, the lighting service becomes even more essential. However, the problems with the maintenance company have plunged the municipality into a real energy crisis: total blackouts in some towns, intermittent cuts in different streets and unresolved problems in key points", they point out.

The popular ones explain that "currently, the City Council has a single public employee in charge of electrical maintenance, which has led to the impossibility of repairing the breakdowns and restoring normality to the municipality." "Residents religiously pay their taxes and do not deserve to see essential services such as lighting or cleaning dismantled. It is unacceptable to presume millions of euros in the budget, but then the services are reduced or deteriorated", they have indicated from the Popular Party.

Francisco Aparicio, leader of the PP in Tías, has declared: "This mayor, who is more concerned with criticizing the opposition than with working for the municipality, has dismantled the basic services of Tías. The safety of our residents and the image of Tías as a tourist destination are in danger, all due to the inability and negligence of this government to manage public services responsibly."

In addition, the Popular Party has demanded that the City Council protect the workers of the current company in charge of lighting, guaranteeing that any company that assumes the service has the current staff. "It is vital that employees feel supported by the local administration", Aparicio stressed.

Given the lack of information and the growing insecurity generated by the lack of an electrical maintenance service, the PP of Tías demands transparency from the City Council and an immediate solution to restore the service, thus ensuring the well-being of citizens.
