The spokesperson for the Nationalist Group (CC- PNC) in the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno, has presented a motion that will be submitted to the next plenary session of the Corporation so that it proceeds "immediately, and with all the security and health measures that are necessary", to the opening of the public bathrooms of the municipality, as well as to the putting into operation of the showers on the beaches of the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen

The councilman recalls that since the first state of alarm was decreed due to the Covid-19 pandemic on March 14, 2020, different measures have been applied and various phases and health situations have been overcome, "some of which are still maintained today, despite the fact that the health situation is not the same as when they were decreed."

In this regard, he points out that this is the case of the closure of public bathrooms in the municipality and showers on the beaches of Puerto del Carmen. “We understand that at first it was necessary due to the impossibility of complying with the necessary health requirements for its opening, but today it is incomprehensible that the pertinent measures have not been taken for its opening, that the safety of users cannot yet be guaranteed and causing multiple complaints from both residents and the few tourists who visit us for now,” Vizcaíno emphasizes.

The nationalist spokesperson considers that "the government of José Juan Cruz cannot continue without assuming its responsibility when looking for solutions for the opening and implementation of municipal services, especially public bathrooms, so necessary for residents who today must go to private premises in case they need to use a bathroom during their walks.”
