CC has announced that, by "mutual agreement" with the Platform of the Municipality of Haría, it will bring to the next plenary session of the northern municipality the annulment of the plenary agreement that approved the addendum to the agreement of the Cueva de los Verdes, after the Court rejected its homologation.

In a statement, the nationalists now point out, more than three and a half years after the TSJC declared the sentence final, that the execution of the same will be requested "in its fair terms", as mandated by the court order. "The attitude of the PSOE with its general secretary and president of the Cabildo, Loli Corujo, at the head, has exhausted the time for agreements and political and institutional negotiation for which CC bet on her hand, and now it is time to abide by this latest court order," they point out.

"It has been the stubbornness of Loly Corujo and Alfredo Villalba, in a serious exercise of irresponsibility for attributing a political victory by betraying their own agreements, that has caused this situation that will have serious consequences for the coffers of the Cabildo and, therefore, of the rest of the municipalities of Lanzarote," they add.

CC continues to insist on giving validity to the agreement signed in its day by Pedro San Ginés, despite the fact that the municipal reports concluded that it was detrimental to the Consistory, that it was signed without requesting an economic opinion and that it was not validated or approved by the courts. "It was not presented to the Contentious-Administrative Court, because the legal services of the Cabildo, both in the report on the initial agreement and in the one prepared for this last rejected addendum, indicated that judicial approval of the agreement was not necessary, prevailing the will of the parties in the resolution of the conflict," he says.

In addition, the nationalists once again emphasize that said agreement foresaw a development plan for the municipality estimated "at 18 million euros", although what the Cabildo committed to at the time was to invest six million in 10 years and "to the extent of its possibilities", according to municipal reports.

"The aforementioned agreement had been working reasonably well and had brought Haría 2.1 million euros in the years 2017 and 2018, without the municipality having received an additional penny in the years 2019 and 2020, that is, since the arrival of Loli Corujo and the PSOE to the Presidency of the Cabildo," they add from CC, although the auditor of the Haría City Council also concluded at the time that there were no investments attributable to that agreement.

Likewise, although it was their own councilors who allowed the addendum to the Cueva agreement to be approved in the Haría plenary session, after four of them voted against the party's guidelines, they once again blame the PSOE for the breakdown of the pact they had maintained until more than a month ago.  "It was the PSOE who, reneging on its own agreements for political interest, tried to impose on CC an addendum to the agreement, which caused the rupture of the government of Haría, and has now been rejected by the courts," they state.
