The spokesperson for CC-PNC in the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno, has demanded that the mayor explain "what is happening on the coast of Puerto del Carmen." “During the last few weeks we have seen how works have been carried out on the different beaches of Puerto del Carmen and in the coves of La Tiñosa, the last of them with an uncontrolled cement spill on El Poril beach and all this supposedly without permission from the coasts, the Canary Islands ports and without an approved project,” he states.
In this regard, Vizcaíno asks the mayor of Tías to explain if these works had any type of permit from the competent administrations such as the coasts or the Canary Islands ports, and reminds him that the ultimate person responsible for public tenders "is himself."

"It is not enough for them to tell us that the Department of Beaches is delegated to Mame Fernández, trying to kick the ball out as has been usual in this first year and a half of misgovernment in Tías," he points out.
The CC-PNC councilor also announces that he will officially request all permits from other administrations as well as specific expense proposals for the works carried out in El Poril.
“Without blue flags and with minimum security services
In addition, the nationalist councilor criticizes that he sees that "while they are busy carrying out small works or rather shoddy jobs based on cement such as the spills in the coves of El Poril, El Riscadero or in Cagafrecho, they still cannot fly the blue flags for not having complied with the required criteria and how the company that managed the surveillance of the beaches is no longer there and now it is an NGO that is providing minimum services in the surveillance of the same, putting the safety of our beaches at risk." A service that Amado Vizcaíno considers "very necessary" especially at this time where the city councils are responsible for ensuring that all measures are met in terms of capacity and social distancing due to Covid-19."
“I believe that the mayor of Tías should focus on managing the municipality effectively with fewer photos and more field work,” says Amado Vizcaíno, who believes that "taking into account the current situation that is being experienced in our municipality due to this health and economic crisis, it is time to focus on what is important and not on confusing residents with press releases on issues that will take a long time to arrive."
