The meeting of the nationalists served to outline the plan of action with a view to the 2007 election campaign and to review the political situation on the Island. At the meeting they also discussed the population growth of the Island. It was the topic that took up most of the members of the party's time. They discussed the demographic "boom" since, according to them, "every month there are 800 more inhabitants in Lanzarote and this rate of growth needs a harmonious reception capacity that guarantees coexistence between natives of the Island and foreign residents."

Another issue was cooperation with their party colleagues in Fuerteventura because "we have similar problems," they said during the meeting.

Regarding the reform of the Statute of the Canary Islands, the Canarian Coalition continues to maintain the position that is based on asking for more political prominence for the Cabildos. They are also in line with the electoral reform model being left out of the Statute or that the text itself defends triple parity and the reduction of electoral caps.

Only disagreements

In addition, at the beginning of the council they clarified that the internal problems of the party in Lanzarote are "only disagreements", and assured that "the organization enjoys a better situation than in previous periods".

The island leadership of the party intends to establish a cohesive fabric within the organization based on periodic meetings, establishing the secretariat before March 31 and building its own and differentiated message from its political rivals".
